The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is a museum devoted to the historical era during the Civil War when slaves escaped to freedom over the Ohio River and to efforts to fight human slavery and oppression. Visitors have a variety of edifying attractions to choose from, including an authentic 1830s-era log slave pen, a series of animated films, an exhibit highlighting important abolitionists like John Brown and Abraham Lincoln. The Center resides in the downtown area, next to the Great American Ball Park, in a copper and stone building meant to illustrate fields and rivers.
Open Tues. - Sun. 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Closed Mon. and during Bengals football games.
Adults $12; Seniors and Students $10; Children $8; Children under 6 are free.
