The Harriet Beecher Stowe House was home to the woman who wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin prior to her marriage, and was the birthplace of her first two children. Those who visit it find an elegant mansion and grounds, with period furnishings garnishing the interior, as well as exhibits on Stowe's life and the history of the abolitionist movement and African-American culture in general. The house lies in the Walnut Hills district, just north of downtown, next to the Walnut Hills Cemetery.
