The Cincinnati Museum Center is a large amalgamation of esteemed learning institutions that includes Robert D. Lindner Family OMNIMAX Theater, Cincinnati History Museum, Duke Energy Children's Museum and Museum of Natural History and Science. Housed in the 1933 Union Terminal, the building was initially utilized as a passenger railroad station until 1972 and was converted to a museum complex in 1990. An elegant example of Art Deco, Union Terminal is dominated by an 180 foot high rotunda covered with mosaic murals illustrating the history of transportation. The Museum Center lies slightly northwest of downtown Cincinnati.
